Flatmate was brought to life by German designer Michael Hilgers for German company Magazin. If you are like me and are trying to turn one room into 2, like an office/guest room, the lest cumbersome way to do this is to turn the closet into the desk/office. Flatmate is only five feet deep is perfect to fit into the closet, and also perfect to stand in the room on its own. The main compartment in front turns into a desk while you can use the compartments on the sides for storage. There are grooves in the backboard to accomodate three metal shelves that are included i nthe package. The desk also includes power outlet and fluorescent lighting fixture. It’s unfortunate that this is not available on this side of the world.
