Curvio‘s founders saw a demand that has always been there but that no one has exploited until them. If you have ever desired a piece of clothing, an accessory, or a piece of furniture that you’ve seen on one of your favorite shows, then you are part of that demand. I know I’ve always been, but since I started watching Mad men this year, I have been crazy about locating places where I can find their fashion and furnishing items. By selecting items based on a show, and/or a character, Curvio shows you similar items you can purchase. Curvio launched in 2012, and I am curious to see how far they are going to go, and anxious to follow their growth.
There is no doubt that the demand is there, but after spending some time looking at the items from Mad Men, the site did not have some of the memorable outfits I had seen throughout the seasons. I fear that it will not have enough options to browse, and that the matched items might be either too expensive, or maybe even not as similar as the original items you wanted. These are my concerns, but let’s not forget that the website launched this year, and has a tremendous amount of potential.
