A vintage spartan travel trailer…
I finally tracked down the owner of this beautifully decorated Spartan trailer. Well to be honest she tracked me down, and I am glad she found me because now I have more information on this beauty.
Lisa Sarenduc who also owns Suitable Digs, a short term accomodation lodging in Santa Fe, NM, purchased the 1948 Spartan in 2006, which was at that time in very poor condition. By 2010 with the help of her friend Danny Rhodes, Lisa had restore the Spartan to its original condition, and designed the whole interior to make it look like the image above.
The great news is that the Spartan is one of Lisa’s lodging in Santa Fe, so if you’ve already experienced this beautiful space, please share your experience with us below; and if you haven’t, consider it on your next trip to Santa Fe. It’s not often that we stumble upon beautiful spaces on the Internet that are affordable.
The images below show the Spartan deconstructed prior to rebuilding, and after. That is what I call hard work!

I have just purchased a trailer like this and have been pouring over material to decorate it. This is the first site I have found that showed how great it can look when finished. Gorgeous!!
Melanie,
I think you have a 1957 Spartan. I spoke with the previous owner and he gave me your name. This is the same model I am looking for and I was hoping to get some photos of yours? Would you be able to find me on FB or leave a message here? Best,
Rob Darbyshire, London, England
Hi, Melanie…thanks for the kind words about my Spartan, which was made in 1948, by the way. I just discovered this post a few days ago, sent to me by a friend. It is part of my short-term lodgings in Santa Fe, New Mexico, so if you’re ever coming this way, you can stay in it. Here is my website: http://www.suitabledigs.com/
Best,
Lisa
